Brisca Formula 1 Stock Cars
As seen on the 2010 BBC 1 in the series “Gears & Tears”,
and Premier Sports Channel via SkyTV during 2011, Brisca F1 Stock Cars are considered the King’s of the Oval, the
premier UK open wheel contact racing, BIG CARS on a small track
with awesome unlimited V8 power. These are considered the big
league in oval racing terms due to the big hits, big noise, and
big crowds that follow this formula from all over Europe.
Contact is encouraged to push other drivers out of the way to
make progress in the race.
SKEGNESS STADIUM are proud to
host the 2012 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - more details

Brisca Formula 2 Stock Cars
F2 Stock Cars are armoured cars, bumpers front & rear, large
grids of cars with close fast contact racing. The cars use
mainly 2L engines, Skegness is a popular track with it wide
bends and fast racing, and watching them under floodlights is a
sight to behold as the lights reflect off of the brilliant paint
work.

2L Saloon Stock Cars
Mention Stock Cars and we immediately think of 2L Saloon Stock
car, and FULL contact is definitely the order of the day.
Armoured up all around, and the bumpers are used, to push and
shove other competitors out of the way, often resulting in
spins, rollovers. You can see with the scars on the bodywork
that this formula is not for those of a nervous disposition. As
the name suggests using 2L engines, with mainly Sierras and
Sapphires as the donor car.

UK Modifieds
The
UK Modifieds are oval track race cars that use modern high
powered motorcycle engines which produce up to 200bhp, and in a
car that weighs only 500kg's this makes them very fast indeed.
To a newcomer these cars may look slightly odd at first sight
with their flat side panels and unique shape, but this serves to
make this class of oval motorsport stand out from the rest
together with the amazing high revving roar of the engines when
powering round an oval race track.

National Ministox
This is racing for the 10 – 15 years old. National Minis based
on the Mini with a 1000cc engine with slight modifications, a
fully welded steel chassis with heavy armour is used to protect
the driver, many sons and daughters of current Stock Car
Champions take part in this formula and despite the drivers only
being kids, the action is as thick and fast as any other formula.
Contact is allowed in the same way as adult formulas. Another
training ground for future Senior Drivers, many of the drivers
in the Brisca F1 Stock Cars started out in this formula. |

1300 Saloon Stock Cars
This Skeggy favourite 1300 stock cars are a smaller version of the 2L
Stock Cars, with bumpers front & rear, it’s a nudge & spin
contact formula without the heavy contact. Fast close racing
using mainly 1300cc Novas or Astra, cars have steel rails on the
outside of the body to protect the body panels from too much
damage. Plenty of race dates on the fast Skeggy tarmac, and we
also race at shale venues in the area including Sheffield, and regular visits to Buxton Raceway
who also operate the formula to the same rules |
 |
GT Hot Rods
Skegness’s own non contact formula with racing no deliberate
contact is allowed, GT Hot Rods have the fastest cars starting
at the back of the grid have to hone their racing skills and it
is an instant decision and spit second timing which will see
drivers overtaking and racing door handle to door handle and
move up the grid. Using mainly Astras, Novas, Corsa, up to
1400cc engines with limited tuning, front wheel drive, with
arched and skirted body panels. An ideal formula to race on the
wide bends and fast smooth tarmac surface, and a real challenge
for drivers of all ability’s. Around 20 race dates all through
the year. |

Junior Rods
The Juniors allow the younger generation to cut their teeth in
motor racing. This is a fine formula for boys and girls to
attempt to emulate their heroes & in lots of cases Dad. Kids
between 11yrs & 16yrs take part using standard 1000cc Novas in
non-contact racing. Many of the Junior drivers move up into
Senior formulas, where you can always tell if they have gone
through the Junior ranks once they get out there with the big
boys. Ex Junior drivers are always more disciplined and better
prepared to race in Senior formulas. An excellent training
formula. |

Rookie Bangers
Bangers usually means heavy contact, but this form of Banger
racing is a limited contact lass, Don’t be misled though, the
action and entertainment that these cars dish out is as
entertaining as any other Banger formula with big grids of cars
seeing spin outs and rollovers in all directions.
The Rookie Bangers are often the choice of Drivers just starting
out in racing or coming from the Junior Formula and wanting to
gain experience. Also includes experienced drivers who just want
to have fun, this formula covers all ranges of experience. The
costs are kept as low as possible with minimum preparation i.e.
the radiator is kept in its original position to minimize heavy
contact.
The cars are upto 1600cc or under 1800cc single cam 8 valve
Astra, Cavalier, Sierra, Primera, Maximum size is Cavalier /
Carina,
As well as novice drivers, there are plenty of racing stars in
Rookie Bangers who love to try their luck on the fast Skeggy
Tarmac. |

Banger Racing
BangerStox - 2L – Unlimiteds
These cars are definitely contact, with emphasise on moving the
car in front out of the way by any means to gain an advantage.
Often MOT failures given a last chance of survival, driven to
the scrap yard via the race track.
Several dates through the year for Bangers check the fixtures
for details of Crashattack & Wreckfest the two main Banger dates
at Skeggy.
Bangerstox 1600cc - Cavalier, Maxi.
2L Bangers Cortina, Capri, Montego, Mondeo
Unlimiteds - Granada, Jags, Volvos |

MD Rods
Our latest formula which started in 2010 as the name suggests a class
using only Mondeo’s in a non contact formula. A budget formula
using readily available cars, An affordable way to get started
on the race track if you prefer your racing as no contact. There
are around 12-15 outings at Skegness and it looks a promising
formula to be in if 2010 was anything to go by. "Like Touring
Cars but on Ovals"; somebody said |
