DriftOne are pleased to be running their first ever
Drifting event at Skegness Stadium on June 1st 2013.
If you're unsure what drifting is here's a bit of footage
from a recent event at Buxton Raceway -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f04xBKM3LQ4
If you're planning to bring a drift car it needs to be rear
wheel drive, have minimum MOT standard seatbelts, have
secure bodywork and no fluid leaks. The fuel tank must be
outside the passenger compartment, so if it's in the boot
the boot must be firewalled. And that's all. No MOT
required. Although a welded or strong limited slip diff is
highly recommended. All drivers will be required to attend a
briefing before going on circuit. Bring a crash helmet.
Spectators are welcome, it's £10 entry for adults, under 16s
get in free, and passenger rides are available for those
over 4' 10" tall.
Passenger rides are £20 on the day but there will be
discounted tickets available if pre-booked the week before.
Passenger rides will be for 2 laps of the stadium, a crash
helmet will be provided.
So Saturday will be drift practice from 9 am to about 6pm
with a short break around 1pm for lunch There will be pre
booked passenger rides afterwards. There are campsites
nearby if you want to stay locally the night before or
after, however once the event is established there should be
onsite camping. There will be a burger van on site.
There will be a tyre van, £5 per rim to change tyres. There
is limited availability of tyres, bring what you can. If
anyone wants to bring some to sell please email
sales@driftone.co.uk
Practice sessions are tailored to drivers' ability. If you
are new and want to go out alone that's fine, let us know.
If you're with a mate and want to practice twinning then
queue up together and let the gate men know.
Please read the timetable above and understand what you are
coming to.
Seaside drifting is coming!
